Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is not necessarily the best option for every business, and the same is true for ever other form of digital marketing. Because we focus on sales, we choose only to work with businesses that we believe that we can actually help, using the forms of marketing that we feel will be most suitable to their specific circumstance.
One of the single most difficult problems with finding a digital marketing company, is knowing whether or not you can trust them. Act was born our people from getting so frustrated with online marketing companies, that we decided to conduct a ridiculous amount of experiments to not only find out what worked, but also what would work over the long term.
If you are trying to rank a site in Google for example, it doesn’t matter if you rank a site quickly, as Google might not do a proper update for 6-12 months, and it’s only then that you find that the tactics you used were no good, and that the business you have been working so hard on no longer exists. We have seen this happen more than once during our own experiments. Having said that, we still find Google to be the single best source of converting traffic online, and our sites not only rank very highly for highly trafficked key search terms, but have done so for years, through dozens of major and minor Google updates. The only businesses that should be scared of Google are those who don’t know what Google wants.
Social Media is also another form of traffic. It tends to be more “warm” than “hot” though, so requires very different conversion strategies than Google. Picture it this way, when we rank a site in Google, we’re ranking it for a product search term like “dog houses”. When ranked, we’re clearly getting people to the site who are very interested in dog houses, because they’re actively searching for them. This is “not” traffic. With Social Media, we’re getting our information in front of people who are interested in dog houses (for example), but not necessarily actively searching for them. Because of this, we need to use a very different strategy than for Google traffic.
Unlike man SEO Companies, we specialize in ranking product based ecommerce sites. Unlike what many SEO websites and service providers will tell you, ranking an ecommerce site is very different than ranking other types of sites. Have you ever noticed that when you search for a product in Google, most of the results are ecommerce websites ? Alternatively, when you search using an information based term (like “how to….’’), Google returns mostly informational sites ? this is because Google knows the different between many different types of search terms, and knows how to recognize an ecommerce site vs an information site when it sees them. So long as your site knows how to give Google what it wants of course.

As such, if you come to us looking to rank your site for the term “iphone” for example, we’re going to have to say no, as unless you have tens of millions of dollars to work with, and a very long term outlook, we can’t realistically help you. Ranking a brand new site in Google is particularity difficult, and while you will often see early results, they don’t often Last.
